Job Title : Data / Evaluation Specialist

FLSA Status : Non-Exempt

Reports to : IT Manager

Department : Information Technology

Preparation Date : January 2024

JOB SUMMARY

The Data / Evaluation Specialist will design and maintain clinical quality databases and create ad hoc and BI reports and dashboards within the EHR that support improvements in clinical effectiveness.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Engages, collaborates, andcommunicates effectively with team members to ensure that data needed is identified to support the clinical and business functions of the Center.
  • Works with program teams to monitor data and develop reports on effectiveness.
  • Creates ad hoc reports, data dashboards and BI reports that assist program leadership in managing program effectiveness on a day-to day basis.
  • Prepares appropriate formatting to datasets as needed.
  • Designs, tests, and validates clinical databases and data, including designing or testing logic checks.
  • Provides support and information to functional areas such as quality assurance, clinical / medical, and marketing.
  • Generates summary BI reports that are automated and emailed to C-Suite as directed for agency oversite.
  • Adheres to confidentiality, HIPAA, and risk management policies and procedures including but not limited to completing Incident Reports.
  • Utilizes technology provided to perform job efficiently and effectively.
  • Makes recommendations for new technologies / software to promote growth and strategic development.
  • Participates in other functional work by participating in related projects, as applicable and directed by Center leadership.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No direct supervisory responsibilities are required.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS :

  • Minimum of two years’ experience with an EHR.
  • Demonstrates exceptional skills and ability to create useful and actionable SQL reports from an EHR and other software systems as needed.
  • Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills, time management and organizational skills with the ability to complete multiple tasks and high volume of work while on a deadline.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must possess excellent computer skills.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, previous training and or related certification.
  • Aptitude to learn and master new software.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  • Ability to solve practical problems, interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS :

Minimum of Associate degree in information technology, health sciences, data analytics, or related field.
