Position:
CGS is currently seeking applications from experienced Material Controllers for potential upcoming opportunities within the Greater Houston area.

Your day-to-day tasks include:
**

  • Manage receipt, storage, distribution and issuance of equipment and materials at project warehouse and lay down areas.
  • Establish, maintain, and operate a Materials Control System.
  • Operating the project MCS whilst adhering to the Materials Control Contract Execution Procedure and in conjunction with project specific procurement and material control procedures.
  • Oversee the processes relating to receipt of materials
  • Oversee and advise on inventory locations and associated material control processes
  • Prepare, update and review inventory list and reports.
  • Enter shipping orders as required.
  • Prepare material take off lists.
  • Coordinate shipments whilst working with third party suppliers
  • Audit Receiving receipts for inventory accuracy as necessary.
  • Using both manual and computer-assisted systems, prepare and issue daily, weekly, and monthly reports, verifying accuracy of source documents.
  • Communicate project status to all levels of management.
  • Recognize and implement project or process improvements
  • Support in the preparation of an efficient shipping schedule, evaluate all construction schedules and materials
  • Collaborate with construction team to schedule and manage all deliveries
  • Supervise and coordinate transporting, stacking, and shipping activities.
  • Supervise Warehousing and Material personnel

Requirements:*
Successful candidates will have:

Certificate or Diploma in Warehousing, Inventory and Logistics related disciplines

  • Minimum 2 years’ relevant work experience in construction industry
  • Experience working in operational facilities, fabrication yards
  • Experience within materials control, supply chain, and logistics
  • An intermediate competency using computers and Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong commitment to safety
  • Be able to successfully complete criminal background check, drug and alcohol screen
  • Must be able to acquire Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC)
  • Hold a valid driver’s license
