Job Description

Description:

• Research, design, develop, and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for medical, industrial, military, communications, aerospace, business, scientific, and general computing applications.
• Set operational specifications and formulate and analyze software requirements.
• May design embedded systems software.
• Possess and apply a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments.
• Plan and lead major technology assignments.
• Evaluate performance results and recommend major changes affecting short-term project growth and success.
• Function as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.
• May supervise others.
• Apply principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.

Clearance:

• TS/SCI with the ability to obtain CI/POLY

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

• US Citizens with active TS/SCI.
• 5 years of experience as Software Engineer developing distributed software applications using modern and open-source technologies and frameworks.
• Highly fluent programmer in one or more languages – Java, Scala, Go and similar.
• Strong data modeling experience with relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases.
• Has practiced TDD and BDD using tools like Junit, Selenium, Cucumber / Gherkin or similar.
• Strong understanding and knowledge in API best practices – REST and/or gRPC.
• Has worked in a DevSecOps model and delivered code through CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiar and used security and code quality tools like SonarQube, OWASP ZAP, and Fortify.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience developing pipelines as code using Jenkins or GitLab CI.
• Experience developing deployment automation scripts using Terraform, AWS Cloud Formation.
• Hands-on experience in JavaScript frameworks like Angular, Vue, React and similar.
• Experience working in multi-domain networks involving cross-domain solutions.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent.
• Any AWS Associate, Professional, or Specialty certification.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent.

Location:

• Joint Base Anacostia Bolling, Washington, DC
