Job Summary and Qualifications

This position supports the mission of Presbyterian/St Luke’s Medical Center of optimizing the quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person. The Clinical Nutrition Manager will supervise the Cancer Care Services Clinical Nutrition staff and will direct a comprehensive nutritional care program for oncology patients.

  • The Clinical Nutrition Manager is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and evaluating the clinical nutrition and nutritional education programs for inpatient oncology patients and outpatient oncology patients at Colorado Blood Cancer Institute.
  • Functions as a professional and technical advisor to clinical staff, other allied healthcare professionals, program directors and managers throughout the medical center and outpatient clinic.
  • Directs the provision of nutrition therapy by supervising the activities of the clinical dietitians which includes nutrition screening, assessment, monitoring and education.
  • Implements and coordinates a continuing staff development program.
  • The Clinical Nutrition Manager must be able to perform all duties of the subordinate clinical dietitians and work as a clinical dietitian as needed.
What qualifications you will need:
  • RD (Registered Dietitian) or RDN (Registered Dietitian Nutritionist).
  • CNSC (Certified Nutrition Support Clinician) and/or CDE (Certified Diabetes Educator).
  • CSO (Certified Specialist in Oncology) preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science or Arts and/or Masters Degree in Food & Nutrition or Dietetics from an accredited college or university. Master’s of Science Degree preferred.
  • Ongoing CEU’s in specialty area of practice.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years professional experience as a registered dietitian with an emphasis in nutrition support or oncology nutrition.
