The childbirth educator (CBE) demonstrates advanced knowledge and skills in providing education programs for the parent education department. Each instructor’s knowledge and skills is pertinent to the classes(es) she/he/they is teaching. The educator works under the supervision of the Parent Education Coordinator and the VP of Women’s Services. When the need arises, she/he/they will perform other duties as assigned by the coordinator.
Degree of supervision: involves general guidance and direction by the Parent Education Coordinator and VP of Women’s Services. Employee will be expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with the established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Applicants must either be an RN or be certified by a nationally/internationally recognized program. (ICEA, CAPPA, DONA etc.)
