Presbyterian Church USA is Hiring a Site Manager Near Stony Point, NY

Reports To:

Director of Stony Point Center

Position Code:

Full-time, exempt

Salary: 

$50,000- $60,000

Position Purpose: To ensure a functional, aesthetically pleasing, and safe environment for guests and staff at Stony Point Center while maintaining the highest possible standard of guest comfort and safety.

Roles and Responsibilities (list in order of priority):

  • Interact with guests and staff to present Stony Point Center in a positive and hospitable way.
  • Respond to maintenance needs proactively to assure a positive guest experience and the long-term viability of campus buildings while operating with-in budget. 
  • Work with Director of SPC to plan and carry out all work projects on the property, including supervision of volunteers, contractors and staff, making sure appropriate materials are available while maintaining health and safety and positive experience of all.
  • Establish and implement plans for preventive, routine, and life-cycle (major) maintenance.
  • Identify and select vendors and competitive bids as appropriate.
  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory and safety standards by meeting with government and insurance inspectors and taking corrective action as needed.
  • Keep all mechanical, electrical, utility, and structural blueprints and documentation up to date.
  • Ensure staff is up to date on certifications and receive training necessary to adequately maintain and operate systems.
  • Maintain all facility related inventory, including vehicles, equipment, supplies, etc. to ensure adequacy, quality and working conditions, and up to date registrations and inspections.
  • Assist in the hiring, training, supervision, and termination of maintenance department employees, scheduling and supervising them so that they reach their fullest potential while achieving performance objectives and meeting department standards.
  • Work with Director of Operations and Executive Director to plan and execute long-range strategies for facility improvements.
  • Assure that the grounds are safe and presentable at all times, including snow removal as required. 
  • Assure that there is a qualified person available 24/7 to respond to emergencies.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty 

Essential Position Requirements: 

Education

  • Minimum of high school diploma (or equivalent), technical certificates preferred

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years experience in a similar position
  • Demonstrated mechanical and problem-solving ability.
  • Demonstrated experience managing people and systems.

Required Skills

  • General contracting, Electrical, HVAC, plumbing and basic carpentry skills.
  • Excellent organizing, analyzing, problem solving, communicating (oral and written) skills. 
  • Ability to use computer/tablet to access work order system to track and assign tasks.
  • Ability to operate power tools and equipment safely.
  • Strong supervisory and coaching skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time.
  • Ability to work well with colleagues.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to manage crises calmly.
  • Ability to delegate effectively while working with skilled maintenance workers to complete tasks as necessary.
  • Ability to interact and communicate with individuals from different racial and ethnic backgrounds and hold sub-contractors accountable to the highest possible standard in an intentionally anti-racist environment.

Helpful Skills

  • Proficiency in both English and Spanish language is very helpful.

Physical Requirements

  • Lift 75 lbs. frequently and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs. Climb. Balance. Stoop. Kneel. Crouch. Crawl. Reach. Handle. Touch. Feel. Hear. See.
  • Work both inside and outside; bulk of work is performed on the campus in bathrooms, sleeping rooms, meeting rooms, grounds, basements, attics, and crawl spaces. 
  • Ability to be on-call as needed and work evenings/weekends/holidays as needed.
  • Requires living on-site in Stony Point Center.
