Premise is Hiring a Payroll Specialist & Accounts Receivable Near Minneapolis, MN

SUMMARY: The Payroll Specialist & Accounts Receivable performs duties that include generating and submitting invoices to customers, maintaining customer payables account information, and processing employee payroll in the payroll system. For this position we are looking for someone that has approximately 5 years of experience in Payroll with Prevailing Wage.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Payroll duties:
  1. Monitor and communicate missing or unapproved time entries to supervisors.
  2. Review and correct timecards for payroll processing.
  3. Process Bi-weekly payroll.
  4. Handle Child Support, Wage Garnishments, and Levy notices.
  5. Facilitate 401K payments to employee accounts. 
  6. Serve as a resource for employee paycheck inquiries.
  7. Reconcile payroll to the general ledger and bank statements.
  • Accounts Receivable duties:
  1. Perform daily billing activities and submit invoices to customers.
  2. Verify, process, and post cash receipts, addressing any discrepancies in credits/debits.
  3. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to accounts receivable.
  4. Monitor collections, escalating issues when necessary.
  5. Reconcile cash accounts daily.
  • Month End duties:
  1. Assist the Finance Team in the Month-End Close process.
  2. Record accrual entries, including payroll, PTO, bonuses, and per diem
  3. Import and preprocess timecards for WIP calculation. 
  4. Reconcile A/R Aging Report to the general ledger.
  5. Perform bank reconciliation at month-end.
  6. Prepare quarterly rate review and trend reports for the Sales & Estimating Team.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • In addition to the above, other required qualifications for this role are: 
  • Two-year Associate degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
  • 5 years of experience in Payroll, required experience with Prevailing Wage. 
  • Must possess general accounting knowledge with the ability to understand process flows including general ledger postings, account analysis and reconciliations, etc.
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to be trustworthy with wage and financial information. 
  • Intermediate levels of Excel skills, including pivot tables and vlookup.
  • Highly accurate and reliable

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit, walk, lift, talk, hear, see, reach, grasp and use hands and fingers to operate a computer key board, telephone, and other office equipment. The employee must have the ability to occasionally lift up to 15 lbs.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

The employee performs the essential functions of this job in a normal indoor office environment.
