Job Summary: The General Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the facility, ensuring a clean, safe, and functional environment. This role involves performing routine maintenance tasks, supporting severe weather preparations, and assisting with light landscaping and general repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Recycling Coordination: Position, collect, and coordinate recycling bins between office areas and schedule recycling truck pick-ups.
• Clean-Up Operations: Perform general clean-up of minor flooding and spills caused by plumbing leaks or weather intrusion using provided equipment such as shop vacuums and mops.
• Lighting Maintenance: Test emergency backup lighting and replace light bulbs as needed.
• Entryway and Walkway Clearing: Ensure entryways and walkways are clear, particularly during inclement weather.
• Landscaping Support: Provide light landscaping support, including weeding and pruning around the facility.
• Severe Weather Preparations: Assist in preparations for severe weather, such as covering office equipment, unplugging electrical devices, and moving vehicles to safe storage areas.
• Escort Duties: Escort NAVFAC and other repair personnel working on service tickets and repair orders.
• Mounting and Installation: Mount artwork, signs, televisions, and brackets to walls as required.
• Reporting: Report damages and areas in need of repair to the appropriate party.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in facilities maintenance or a related field.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Forklift Operator Certification.
• OSHA 10-Hour Safety Certification.
• Fall Protection Training (USACE EM 385-1-1).
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
