JOB SUMMARY:

The Turf / Plant Health Care Applicator position’s primary responsibilities will be the overall management of lawn/turf services and plant/tree health care. Responsibilities will include development and implementation of the turf and plant health care program with up-to-date certifications/licenses for proper turf application of fertilizers, insecticides, fungicides, etc.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: (Including but not limited to):

• Provide quality lawn care services to our inventory
• Apply weed control and fertilizer, insecticides and fungicides to commercial and residential turf, daily routing of work orders, and truck inspections
• Quality control of all plant materials received into yard
• Assist with maintenance of yard inventory of plants, trees and shrubs with Yard Manager
• Manage wetland mitigation area on premises
• Handle a book of 20 maintenance accounts and be client contact for any PHC needs
• Head off problems before they need to be brought to the attention of upper management
• Maintain office plants and change out when needed
• Hold proper licenses/certifications necessary to meet State regulations for turf application

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Up to date licenses/certifications for turf application and plant Health Care
• Class C, CDL license
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities to work in a fast-paced team environment
• Ability to conduct business in a professional manner at all times to best represent the Organization
• Technological knowledge base to utilize necessary systems and process in the most efficient manner
• Strong interpersonal skills necessary to communicate in a professional manner with all members of the organization
• Horticultural knowledge and understanding of landscape management and PHC
• Experience with lawn care, horticultural services and general maintenance practices
• Organization and time management skills
• Solid written communication skills to prepare accurate and appropriate documents
• Ability to accept additional responsibilities as assigned and adjust smoothly to changes in responsibilities as needed

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Some physical effort required. Must be able to tolerate extended periods of sitting or standing; frequent use of a computer and cell phone and have the ability to communicate and hear effectively
• The employee is often required to stand and walk safely in the office and at job sites, reach with hands, arms and stoop and bend and lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
• Flow of work and character of duties involves normal visual and mental attention
• Duties require willingness to work a flexible schedule and/or weekends
