The position is open to anyone with an aptitude for mechanics and plumbing, who loves to be outdoors, work hard, learn new things, and wants to learn a new trade. We have found people who excel in this position to be those who are interested or have experience in mechanics, HVAC, farming, plumbing, electrical, or automotive repairs.

Role and Responsibilities

Throughout the Summer, go from being trained as an apprentice to being able to do many of the duties of a Swimming Pool & Spa Service Technician on your own, providing for the opportunity for a higher wage and better job stability.

After the completion of the apprenticeship, you should be able to:

• Lead jobs for hot tub troubleshooting, spa repairs, spa deliveries and spa preparation
• Perform pool and spa equipment upgrades
• Perform Pool & Hot Tub openings and closings
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair swimming pool and spa equipment and error codes
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair Chemistry Automation equipment
• Troubleshoot and Clean Up problematic Pools & Spas
• Install & Replace pool and spa equipment
• Test/adjust pool and spa water chemistry
• Measure and install automatic covers, winter covers, deck goods, etc.
• Perform company vehicle maintenance (such as oil changes)
• Customer service
• Recommend Equipment and Repairs
• Load and unload service trucks (Must be able to carry 60 lbs.)

Other longer-term goals, and ability to reach higher wages ($62,000-$90,000 per year) include:

• Measure and install vinyl pool liners
• Perform complex repairs and installations (including commercial jobs)
• Lead renovation projects (Retrofitting steps, auto cover systems, etc.)
• Become a Trainer for other pool & spa technicians-in-training

Independent responsibilities

• Warehouse duties, including pallet jack use
• Forklift operation
• Maintaining/Keeping your work environment clean and organized
• On the job training and resources are available, but you will benefit from accessing these online resources on your own as well, to speed up the learning process tremendously.

A self-starter who will take it upon themselves to do the best job they can, who has the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with an aptitude for mechanics, electronics, and plumbing.

Premier Pools is a small, family run business that continues to grow year after year. Our service department is responsible for repairing and maintaining residential and commercial swimming pools and spas (hot tubs). Our retail store sells chemicals, cleaners, toys, etc. to our walk-in customers. Our showroom displays all of our products for sale including Yeti products, outdoor furniture, and Arctic Spas.
