Premier Orthopedics and Sports Medicine is looking for a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) to work at Garnet Valley Middle School!

SUMMARY: The Athletic Trainer is responsible for providing onsite athletic training services to student athletes under the direction of the team physician. The Athletic Trainer interacts with management, peers, student athletes, families, visitors, and Premier personnel. He/she carries out other tasks as requested in situations where hands on intervention/participation may be required.

The Certified Athletic Trainer Essential Duties and Functions:

  • Is responsible for providing athletic training coverage at all home interscholastic athletic events and away football games.
  • Is responsible for evaluating injuries and developing treatment plans within the scope of practice. Re-evaluates treatment plans to ensure maximum patient benefit.
  • Is responsible for implementing individualized therapeutic interventions and monitoring responses to ensure athlete safety.
  • Is responsible for maintaining medical records on all injuries and rehabilitation procedures.
  • Is responsible for educating athletes, families, and coaches regarding injuries, injury prevention, and exercise programs.
  • Is responsible for developing comprehensive facility and condition specific emergency action plans.
  • Is responsible for establishing and maintaining a working relationship with the team physician and community physicians.
  • Is responsible for maintaining athletic training supplies/equipment.
  • Is responsible for dressing professionally.
  • Is responsible for being prompt and professional at all times.
  • Is responsible for adhering to all rules and regulations as outlined in his/her respective State ATC Practice Act.
  • Is responsible for promoting all Premier products and services whenever possible.
  • Is responsible for maintaining valid state ATC licensure, including acquiring all required CEU’s within allotted time renewal period.
  • Is responsible for maintaining current Emergency Cardiac Care certification.

The Certified Athletic Trainer Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in athletic training as well as state licensure
  • Must have BOC Certification
  • Must have a valid current Emergency Cardiac Care certification
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions and problem solve as appropriate.
  • Must possess the ability to positively interact with personnel, family members, visitors, physicians, government agencies/personnel and the general public.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
