Unit Clerk

Greene Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Canter has an opening for a Unit Clerk.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS (Including but not limited to):

• Performs receptionist and clerical duties on the unit.
• Greets and assists patients, visitors, family members, physicians, and other staff looking for assistance.
• Answers phones and verbally communicates effectively, responding promptly to general information, and requesting and conveying messages as necessary.
• Calls physicians’ offices to schedule patient appointments as necessary in a timely fashion.
• Communicate with family members as necessary for upcoming patient appointments.
• Arranges transportation for patients to and from medical appointments.
• Participates in maintaining complete and accurate patient medical charts.
• Places calls to physicians' offices and other departments as the charge nurse requested.
• Demonstrates awareness of and sensitivity to patient’s rights and maintains patient confidentiality.
• Maintains effective and timely communication with nurses, other staff, patients, and family members.
• Keeps nurses’ station clean and clutter-free.
• Maintains cooperative working relationships and supports staff in the performance of their duties.
• Communicate any problems or concerns to the Nursing Manager in a timely fashion.
• Helps to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be able to multi-task effectively.
Excellent communication and customer service skills are required.

EXPERIENCE:

Some computer skills are needed
Will train the right applicant

• 8-hour shift. 8 am - 4 pm Mon-Fri
