The Medical Assistant performs both clinical and administrative duties. The Medical Assistant supports patient care by taking medical histories and recording vital signs of patients as well as administrative duties such as requesting and updating patient medical records, filing and preparing correspondence for patients or members of the healthcare team.
Hours: Monday-Thursday, 35-40 hr/wk
Pay Rate: Depends on experience, Starts at $15.00/hr
Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
Education Level: Diploma from an accredited program for Medical Assistants required. MA Certification preferred.
Experience Years: 1 years’ experience in office based setting preferred.
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge. Knowledge as normally obtained through graduation from an Accredited Medical Assisting Program. Completion of an approved medical assistant training program as defined by state regulations. Medical Assistant Certification is required All direct patient care personnel are required to demonstrate competent performance of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (BLS) techniques for adults, children and infants according to the standards of a nationally recognized, standardized, credentialed healthcare provider course every other year. Requires strong computer skills, including the ability to work with medical software. Requires exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Requires the ability to manage multiple changing priorities in an effective and organized fashion.
