Prema at Ashton Hills is Hiring a Care Partner Near Covington, GA

Job Summary:

The Care Partner is expected to provide comprehensive and compassionate care to the residents of Prema at Ashton Hills LLC (“Prema”). This role involves supporting the residents in their day-to-day activities, promoting their well-being, and upholding the philosophy of assisted living and memory care. The care partner will be in close contact with residents and is expected to act professionally, ensuring to uphold their patients’ rights and dignity. The Care Partner reports to the Shift Supervisor, Wellness Director, Manager on Duty, and Executive Director.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in caregiving, particularly to older adults, is preferred.
  • Proficient in English reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Compassionate, with a strong desire to work with older adults.
  • The minimum age requirement is 18 years, with a satisfactory criminal history check.
  • Must be medically fit, certified by a licensed physician, and must pass a drug screening test.
  • Awareness and understanding of the risks related to exposure to infectious waste, disease, chemicals, solutions, and disinfectants.
  • Ability to respond appropriately during emergency situations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Always uphold residents’ rights and dignity.
  • Ensure confidentiality of residents' personal and medical information.
  • Acquire 24 hours of continuing education in the first year of employment and 16 hours annually, thereafter. Maintain CPR & First Aid certification.
  • Report any supply needs or hazardous conditions to the Executive Director.
  • Attending all staff meetings and required in-service training sessions.
  • Check daily communication tools used in providing resident care.
  • Regularly update Shift Supervisor, Manager on Duty, Wellness Director, and/or Executive Director on any changes in residents’ conditions.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor, Wellness Director, Manager on Duty, or Executive Director.
  • Respond promptly to residents' calls.
  • Assist with meal services, observing any changes in residents' appetite and physical ability to eat and drink.
  • Provide quality care to residents in line with the Prema’s Resident-Centered Lifestyle philosophy, respecting their resident rights.
  • Participate in special events, activities, and marketing programs.
  • Report any changes in residents' conditions to your supervisor or the Wellness Director.
  • Comply with infection control policies and safety precautions.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, Shift Supervisor, and Management.
  • Encourage and assist residents to participate in activities.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in residents' rooms, bathrooms, and public spaces.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with residents and their families.
  • Ensure proper safety practices during resident transfers.
  • Assist residents in daily activities according to their individual preferences.
  • Respond to resident emergencies following policy and procedures.
  • Other responsibilities and duties may be required to be performed as part of this role at the discretion of Prema Management.

Physical Job Demands and Requirements:

  • Assist in the transfer of residents, adhering to proper body mechanics and safety measures.
  • Occasionally lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequently kneel, bend, and reach.
  • Sit for up to two hours a day.
  • Frequently support up to 70 pounds.
