Job Title: Lead Behavioral Health Technician

Location: St. Charles, MO

Department: SUD Services

Employment Type: Full-time

Job Overview:

We are currently hiring for someone to join our team in St. Louis, MO as an Lead Behavioral Health Technician. In this role you will play a key role in providing guidance and direction to other Behavioral Health Technicians while overseeing daily activities of clients/patients. You will ensure adherence to program expectations and rules, facilitate orientation for client/patient populations, and assist in crisis de-escalation as needed. With a focus on maintaining compliance with medication policies and documentation standards, you will contribute to the smooth functioning of the program and the well-being of clients/patients. Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as lead providing guidance and direction to other Behavioral Health Technicians, ensuring adherence to program expectations and rules.

  • Oversee daily activities of clients/patients, communicating pertinent behaviors to the treatment team and facilitating crisis de-escalation as needed.

  • Assist in orientation of client/patient population regarding client rights and rules, ensuring clarity and understanding.

  • Adhere to all medication policies and ensure compliance with medication administration procedures.

  • Document client activities relevant to their progress or behavior, maintaining accurate and timely records.

  • Screen and monitor detoxification clients to ensure safety and recovery needs are met, if applicable.

  • Provide client transportation as needed and assist in training/orientating/supervising Behavioral Technicians.

  • Facilitate Behavioral Health Technician meetings, assist with staff schedules, and prepare group education materials.

  • Demonstrate leadership ability, participate in curricula development, and contribute to program improvement initiatives.

  • Conduct annual evaluations for direct reports within designated time frames.

Education and Experience Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in social work, counseling, psychology, psychiatric nursing, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university; OR

  • High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma with two (2) years of responsible employment history.

Additional Requirements:

  • Knowledge of confidentiality laws governing substance use and mental health treatment, including familiarity with HIPAA/42 CFR Part II.

  • Ability to establish rapport with client population and effectively communicate ideas verbally and in writing.

  • Strong multitasking and prioritization skills, with the ability to lead and guide others.

  • Extensive knowledge of program policies, procedures, and regulations, with the ability to identify and address program issues/concerns
