Job Description

AZZ has an exciting 1st shift opportunity for a Wastewater Treatment Operator at our Garland Texas facility. 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Performing daily operations and maintenance of treatment plant
• Completing minor routine maintenance of equipment
• Demonstrating good interpersonal skills
• Applying a working knowledge of fundamental principles, terminology, and methodology in carrying out assignments
• Understanding and applying standard policies and procedures within specific discipline
• Operating facilities with computer or PLC controls
• Monitoring, regulating, and adjusting chlorinators, chemical feed pumps, and other process equipment
• Collecting samples and performing routine in-lab tests as required
• Maintaining a log of operations and maintenance activities and related records
• Operating system to maintain compliance with permit requirements
• Washing clarifiers, Filter press, operates sludge handling equipment and other process unit equipment, as required
• Having good knowledge of the practices used, and the equipment required in the O&M of industrial facilities and ability to make routine laboratory and field tests for control of plant operations
• Possibly operating a variety of the following types of equipment: forklift, aerial or scissor lifts, generator, compressors, pumps etc
• Participating actively in creating a safety culture at the jobsite
• Adhering to the policies and standards set forth in the Firm’s Project Delivery Manual (PDM), Employee Manual and Corporate Health & Safety Manual
• Your starting point for constant growth
• Candidate will be responsible for operating wastewater treatment plant.
• They will operate machinery that converts wastewater in drains and sewers into a form that's safe to release into the environment

Qualifications

• Applicable health & safety training
• 5 years’ experience
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Must have and maintain valid driver license
• Having the ability to perform basic control laboratory testing and understanding and applying results
• Having good record-keeping skills, being comfortable with computers and computer-controlled equipment, and capable of learning new operating, maintenance, analytical or computer skills
• Wastewater, Wastewater treatment, Mechanical, water treatment, maintenance repair, operation, repair, pump assembly, valves, water system

Minimum Education

• High School diploma / Vocational training or equivalent is required
