Job Description

Bring your previous purchasing experience & analytical ability to the Precoat team. In this collaborative role, you will be a pivotal member of the purchasing team, supporting both tactical and strategic activities. You will analyze historic data to support planning and procurement activities for indirect spend and assigned commodities. As a valued contributor, you will manage relationships with leaders and assist in navigation of the sourcing processes. Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Assess operational inefficiencies, devise solutions, and submit IT changes to improve company processes with support of plant management.
  • Analyze spending patterns and market trends to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements.
  • Manage supplier relationships, including conducting regular performance reviews and maintaining ongoing communications.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for indirect categories that align with company objectives.
  • Drive supplier bidding process by providing data and recommendations based on estimated planning needs.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to ensure the best possible terms and conditions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure alignment with the procurement strategy.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and prepare reports on procurement activity for senior management.
  • Manage new vendor setup and evaluation process.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of procurement policies and procedures.
  • Work with management to create/manage capital justifications.
  • Work with the accounts payable to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments related to vendors.
  • Coordinate with tenants to schedule regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the proper functioning of the property.
  • Oversee the end-to-end process of initiating and managing purchase orders (POs), while ensuring that all PO requests are documented, properly assigned, and effectively executed in a timely and professional manner.
  • Periodically travel to property in Columbia, SC to meet with tenants, evaluate current state, and coordinate repairs as needed.

Qualifications

If you have a Bachelor's degree along with 3-5 years of experience in a fast paced, collaborative purchasing role and have property management experience joining Precoat is a great career move. In addition to the education & experience, as a team player you will also have the following skills:

  • Strong analytical, problem solving skills and communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills, ability to complete tasks and get things done.
  • Ability to work in multi-functional teams, strong collaboration skills. 
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to develop presentation materials/reports by using standard tools (such as MS Excel).
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Self-driven and growth-oriented, capable of moving up to the next level and willing to make the personal investment to get there.
