Responsibilities

Our client is searching for a Senior Software Engineer to coordinate the O&M cycle with the schedule of activities on-site for efficient deployment of mandatory updates! The position enacts the protocols prescribed by the software engineering methodology into the physical and virtual workplace environments. The Senior Software Engineer shall provide technical direction and guidance to lower-level professional software personnel involved in performing difficult and highly complex software engineering assignments relative to the operations and maintenance of the Translator’s Online Network Support (TONS) system.

Requirements

• Eight (8) or more years of experience performing highly complex software engineering activities using "state-of-the-art", as defined by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), software engineering concepts and software techniques including at least 3 years of database management experience (Oracle required)
• Eight (8) or more years of experience in the Java programming language
• Five (5) or more years of experience with the Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE) and experience with one or more Enterprise Java Beans (EJB) platforms such as Glassfish or JBoss EAP
• Experience with operation and maintenance of workflow systems in an AWS cloud environment
• One (1) or more years of experience Agile software development experience
• One (1) or more years of experience with Jira
• A professional background in systems engineering/architecture, ideally in a United States Government environment
• Demonstrated knowledge and application of industry best practices and standards for software engineering and software development
• Experience with software development lifecycle (from requirements to an operational system and system decommission)
• Experience with software configuration management (version control, bug/issue tracking, software build tools)
• Experience fielding workflow applications

Preferred Requirements

• A Certification as an AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate is preferred

Education/Certification Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree required in engineering, computer science, information sciences, or related field or equivalent in experience and expertise is required

Clearance Requirements

• Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; an active TS/SCI clearance is required.
