Responsibilities

Our client is looking for a Budget and Financial Analyst to join their team! The right mixture of great ideas and funding can create powerful change. In a complex organization, allocating funding to where it can be most effective can be a challenge. That’s why our client needs you, a Financial Analyst who can navigate the requirements, policies, and regulations that govern funding, to make sure our client's resources can make the most impact.

As a Financial Analyst, you’ll work on a financial management strategy to help an important national security client succeed. You’ll work with project managers, task leads, and senior government officials to build an actionable plan for your client to secure the funding needed to achieve their goals. This is an opportunity for you to learn the laws, regulations, and policies that will help your client develop well-formed requirements. Once the funding is in place, you’ll make sure the funding is used efficiently through consistent tracking and communication with project management, task leads, and key stakeholders. This is your chance to use your skills in project management, budget analysis, and business process improvement while furthering your financial analysis experience!

Requirements

• 3 years of experience with financial management or budgeting in a federal government environment
• Knowledge of federal standards, policy, and processes that apply to federal government agencies, including Appropriations Law, Federal Travel Regulations, and Federal Accounting Policy
• Ability to prepare financial statements or reports, record and analyze financial transactions, manage spend plans, and track expenditures
• Ability to write, review, and edit financial process documents and produce ad-hoc financial reports
• Ability to develop effective and informative briefing charts for senior leaders
• Ability to utilize Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access

Preferred Requirements

• Knowledge of financial management and accounting software that is used to record and report on transactions, including Quickbooks is highly preferred
• A Bachelor's degree in Business or a similar field is preferred

Education/Certification Requirements

• A HS Diploma or GED is required for this position

Clearance Requirements

• Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; an active TS/SCI clearance is required.
