Assembly Technician

Precision Pumping Systems has been a local and family-owned manufacturing business since 1972. To continue our growth, PPS is looking to increase our labor force to keep up with production demands from the sales of our increasingly popular motor control panels. We are searching for talented individuals to join our pump station assembly teams!

Job Summary:

The panel technician position performs important tasks involved in the production of the company's products. The job includes measuring, layout out components and wiring, packaging, as well as learning other manufacturing jobs. The position is self-directed and collaborative. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure our customers get the best products possible.

The perfect candidate will be able to perform these essential duties:

• Positions components on a backplate and screw down according to drawings utilizing battery hand drills and taps.
• Mount raceways and rout wires according to schematic drawings, utilizing wire ferruling machine and tools.
• Fits parts to very close tolerances and operating requirements.
• Mounts and connects auxiliary, mechanical, electrical, electronic, equipment, cuts and fitting of electrical enclosures with skill saw.
• Perform operating tests and final adjustments.
• Use hand tools, air tools, and measuring devices.
• Able to read and follow build drawings.
• Able to operate forklift and other lifting devices able to learn.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
• The employee is required to handle power tools and to manipulate tools, wires, and components.
• The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
• The position involves lifting less than 20 pounds for long periods throughout the day.

Required education and experience:

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience using power tools.

Preferred experience:

• Experience with wire prep, wire routing, torquing, and electrical panel assembly a plus.
• Experience with process and quality improvement.
• Experience reading wiring diagrams.
