Precision Imaging Centers is Hiring a MRI Tech Near Jacksonville, FL

Description

We are expanding throughout the Jacksonville Florida metro area. Come grow with us! We pride ourselves on providing a relaxing environment for everyone, including our staff and patients. Come be a part of a winning, supportive team! No Call. No Overnights. We are an Outpatient only facility. Must be able to work evenings and weekends. Experienced MRI Techs are eligible for a sign on bonus!

Position Overview:

MRI Technologists utilize their communication, patient care and collaborative skills to interact with patients and other members of the imaging team. They are responsible in ascertaining everyone’s safety in the MR environment, before entering the magnetic field. MRI Technologists utilize their knowledge of anatomy, physiology and the principles of MRI to safely and efficiently operate MRI scanners, assisting in the diagnosis of disease and injury. Effective MRI Technologists are patient advocates who display reflective, responsible practice and have strong problem solving and technical skills.

Essential Job Functions:
• Ensure the safety of patients, staff and visitors who come into contact with the powerful magnetic field of an MRI scanner. (10%)
• Follows safety procedures by assessing and evaluating the patient both verbally and reviewing the MRI screening form. (10%)
• Explains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation to obtain a diagnostic exam. (10%)
• Sets up imaging area and selects appropriate coil based on body habitus, protocol, and order. (10%)
• Positions patient on exam table and uses immobilization devices in order to obtain optimum views of specific areas of the body. (10%)
• Set appropriate technical parameters, operate MRI scanners and related equipment, and observe image data on computer monitors during scans. (30%)
• Evaluate MR scans for technical quality and necessity of repeats. (10%)
• Inject contrast media as required. (10%)

Non-Essential Job Functions:
• Remains up to date on developments and trends in MR imaging techniques, procedures, and equipment.
• Participates in educational programs and meets National and State requirements for continuing education credits.
• Works collaboratively with and Lead Technologist to ensure smooth, efficient patient flow and optimal utilization of MRI scanner.
• May oversee and instruct MRI students within the department.
• Ensures that there are an adequate number of supplies needed to preform daily MRI
• Tech will perform daily visual inspection and weekly ACR QA on scanner and components and relay any issues immediate to Lead.

Education Required:
• Graduate of a Radiologic Technology school
• Florida license in Radiography
• ARRT certification in Magnetic Resonance
• Experience in Venipuncture
• BLS certification
• Previous Related Work Experience Required (Minimum of 1 year)

• Ability to be able to follow direction and work well both independently and with other Technologists, Supervisors, Radiologists, patients and office staff.
• Ability to adapt to new technologies and techniques.
• Knowledge of the full scope of MRI techniques and procedures.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills along with proper telephone etiquette.
• Performs in tactful and professional manner.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Good problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• A sense of responsibility and a high degree of integrity.
• Sensitivity to the needs of ill and injured people.
• The ability to put people at ease.

Physical and Working Requirements of the Position:
Heavy lifting: up to 100 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Must be able to stand, stoop and lift and walk without restrictions.

Work Availability / Hours Required:

(standard, evenings, weekends, split shift, etc.)
This is a 4x10 shift, must be able to work evenings and weekends

Competencies:
• Knowledge of MRI physics.
• The ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in their duties.
• Good problem solving and critical thinking skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
• ACLS Certification.
• Proficiency with PACS and Radiology Information Systems.

*Multimodality Technologists are preferred
