Precision Eyecare is Hiring an Ophthalmic Technician Near Tuscaloosa, AL

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting optometrist in providing exceptional eye care to our patients. You will perform various diagnostic tests, gather patient medical history, and provide support during eye examinations. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about eye health and patient care.

Some Responsibilities:
- Perform preliminary eye function testing, including visual acuity, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision tests
- Conduct diagnostic tests such as tonometry, visual field testing, and corneal topography
- Assist with patient medical history documentation and update electronic health records
- Prepare examination rooms with necessary equipment and supplies
- Educate patients on proper eye care procedures and contact lens usage
- Administer eye drops and medications as directed by the ophthalmologist or optometrist
- Assist with minor surgical procedures and provide post-operative care instructions
- Clean and maintain ophthalmic instruments and equipment

Qualifications:
- Previous experience as an Ophthalmic Technician or similar role preferred but not required.
- Proficient in performing vital signs measurements accurately
- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to maintain accurate patient records
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
