Overview:

The primary responsibility of this position is to assist the company’s Field Operations management team by coordinating key aspects of the company’s communications cabling installation projects, including assigning the technician labor required for a designated subset of the company’s individual projects, maintaining designated segments of the master schedule of all active and upcoming projects, purchasing and receiving materials and equipment for all of the company’s projects, assisting with providing technical guidance and mentoring to technicians with lower levels of experience, and contributing to the generation, collection, and maintenance of the required documentation for completed projects.

Other secondary responsibilities include managing the scheduling of periodic maintenance of the company’s vehicle fleet and managing periodic minor maintenance needs of the company’s headquarters facility.

Specific Duties Include:

• Contribute to the process of scheduling installation technicians for active and upcoming cabling projects, according to each project’s specific skill requirements
• Assist in developing and adjusting the master schedule for all active and upcoming projects

• Provide input to the forecasting of labor and equipment needs, based on the master schedule

• Procure and receive materials and equipment needed for each individual project

• Stage received materials for the installation technicians at the start of and throughout projects

• Assist with providing guidance to technicians regarding the proper installation, termination, labeling, testing, and troubleshooting of copper and fiber cabling and related component installations

• Support the generation and management of final project documentation, e.g., download test results and final as‑built drawings and store in project-specific files on company’s network

Experience and Skill Set Required:

• A minimum of 4 years of structured cabling installation experience in a lead role is mandatory.
• Experience with materials purchasing processes and supporting systems is a significant plus.

• Exceptional attention to detail, organizational and planning skills, and proactive problem solving skills are required.

• Ability to work cooperatively with other functional groups within the company (e.g., Finance team, Estimating team) and with the company’s suppliers and service providers is essential.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds.

• A valid state-issued driver’s license.
