JOB SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the Quality Director with input from the Quality Manager the Quality Receiving Inspector performs various quality tasks focusing on the inspection and validation of incoming goods. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Requirements of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Promote and support the requirements and principles of the Precise Quality Management System and AS9100.
• Receiving Inspection per Precise work instruction WI-8.6-035 Receiving Inspection 
• Fully understanding of traceability requirements of raw materials and hardware.
• Ability to read and comprehend the job traveler requirements and customer requirements. 
• Identify, record, mark lot code stampings on raw material and castings to assure traceability throughout the entire process. Machining – shipment. 
• Record keeping of all documents and photos of received materials scanned to the correct job folder as soon as possible when received. 
• Auditing of raw material with the use of the XRF gun and recording data. (Per WI document – currently 11/29/2023 in draft) 
• Ability to move materials with fork truck / pallet truck. 
• Understanding of the NCMR process including creating and communicating the NCMR information during a Material review board meeting. 
• Must be flexible, approachable, and work well with all employees. 

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 

• Understanding of Precise Tool Work Instructions WI-8.6-035 Receiving Inspection
• Attention to detail is required.
• Blueprint reading and understanding of engineering drawings / models. 
• Understanding how Job Travelers function in the QMS 
• Use of standard Quality measurement tools such as calipers, micrometer, and dial indicators. 
• Communication skills are of an up most importance. Being able to communicate inspection results effectively is a must have for this position. 
• Above average math skills that are associated with Metrology.
• Basic understanding of the AS9100D Quality Management System

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

• High School Diploma. 
• Experience in receiving goods a plus. 
• Minimum 5 years of experience working in Quality preferred.
• Fork truck experience preferred. 
• Quality experience preferred. 
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the metal industry and or parts manufacturing industry a plus.

According to the New York Pay Transparency law, pay range for this job is $17.00 - $27.00 / hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
