Precise Software Solutions, Inc. is Hiring a Remote UI/UX Designer

We are currently looking for a Mid to Senior level UI/UX Designer experienced with designing and developing attractive and functional user interfaces for applications being developed and hosted both on -premises and in the cloud. The candidate will translate user requirements into visual concepts and prototypes using wireframes, storyboards, and prototyping tools. The candidate will design solutions that not only meet user and client needs, but also seamlessly scale and fit within the applications being developed. The candidate will be able to take charge of our UI/UX practice and drive across the board improvement and strategy.

This position may be remote for the right person but must take place during East Coast core business hours. 

Qualified candidate must have or be able to attain a Public Trust clearance. Qualified candidates must have or can attain a Public Trust clearance. 

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities:

This position is for an experienced user interface designer/developer to work in a fast-paced, Agile environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for gathering user requirements, making usability recommendations, rapid prototyping, and developing the final interfaces. Ideal candidates should have experience in wireframing/prototyping, end user interaction, creating interaction models, user task flows, screen designs, and UI details that promote ease of use and optimize task flows. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Take charge of our UI/UX practice and drive across the board improvement and strategy
  • Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers and engineers
  • Illustrate design ideas using wireframes, storyboards, diagrams, and sitemaps
  • Work with back-end and front-end engineers to ensure UX is implemented as planned
  • Design graphic user interface elements, including navigational menus, and data visualizations
  • Develop UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how applications function and what they look like
  • Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders
  • Work within defined design principles, educating technical team and customer on design principles and techniques
  • Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g., responsiveness)
  • Support development and enforcement of user experience standards

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS Degree with 6 years of related experience or MS with 4 years of experience 
  • In-depth knowledge in user-centered design principles and proven experience executing user-centered design
  • Expertise with wireframing, color schemes and tones, typography, and responsive design
  • Some hands-on experience with Adobe XD; familiarity with wireframe tools such as Balsamiq, Sketch, InVision, or Figma
  • Experience with HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript
  • Strong communication skills and excellent client-facing interpersonal skills (i.e., comfortable and effective acting as a liaison between multiple technology groups) 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Ability to design for users with disabilities and knowledge of 508 compliance
  • Proficiency with visual design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with HHS Enterprise Lifecycle (EPLC) methodology
  • Experience with government contracting
