Position Summary: The Manufacturing Repair Representative (MRR) is capable of repairing the products lines for PRC-Saltillo. Performs the repair, tabulation of costs resulting from the repair, and proper documentation of resolution resulting from repairing customer’s device. This position tests, troubleshoots, and repairs new microprocessor-based assemblies for production. The MRR is expected to play an active role in assuring that PRC-Saltillo’s Products are of the highest quality possible. The MRR will take calls from PRC or Saltillo customer involving wheelchair mounting questions. This position has limited flex time.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs repairs and other service procedures for the Company's product lines and makes a determination as to whether the repair will be warranty or non-warranty. This includes rental/loaner returns and exchanges.
• Tabulates service charges for out of warranty products, which may include calling customers with costs.
• Capable of troubleshooting for the Company product lines, including devices that are no longer in production with limited documentation, test procedures, and parts.
• Repairs any new unit from the product lines that do not function properly or do not meet the quality requirements as required.
• Involved with customer wheelchair mounting questions and setup. Work closely with the wheelchair vendors to get the appropriate pieces and parts for sales to enter in for the customer. Custom modifications may be required, keeping in mind the PRC-Saltillo responsibility or liability of the custom modification.
• Must follow test procedures while using state of the art test equipment.
• Interprets schematics and diagrams to diagnose malfunctions and ensure devices are staying within parameters.
• Assists in the building and designing of custom modification that require using the equipment in the Machine Shop (keyguard and special projects).
• Assists in the building and maintaining appropriate test equipment for each brand.
• Maintains thorough documentation of service-related repairs, calls, and return authorization forms in the computer system in an organized fashion that allows others to quickly access repair and modification information.
• Handles telephone and written correspondence from customers and vendors regarding repairs.
• Must interact with various departments. This interaction comes primarily in the form of feedback which has a significant impact on the quality of design and manufacture of products, as well as the processes that ultimately dictate customer satisfaction.
• Willing to help out in other related departments when needed.
• Assists in the production of accurate templates and models as necessary.
• Decides on most appropriate shipping based on customer situation.
• Be involved in continuous improvement activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Must have demonstrable communication skills both written and verbal.
• Required to have basic troubleshooting skills of systems at component level, including the ability to analyze and use schematics.
• Able to work independently and efficiently, without close supervision.
• Must have strong soldering skills.
• Working knowledge of various test equipment such as: DMM, oscilloscope, fluke micro-system troubleshoot, and IBM PC.
• Working knowledge of Mac, Android and PC-based computer systems.
• Able to be creative when designing custom products.
• Must keep abreast on current technology through continued education, literature, and hands on experience.
• Able to make quick decisions while dealing with customer about costs of modifications and repairs is required.
• Must be diplomatic and professional while attempting to maintain a balance between customer needs and company policy.

Education/Experience:

• Minimum of Associate Degree in electronics or related field required. An individual with an equivalent of 5 years of related work experience may be considered.
• Minimum of 4 years of work experience in electronics, and other areas preferred.
