OVERVIEW:Pratt Miller is looking for an experienced Water Jet Operator that will work individually or with a small team of welders, fabricators, designers, engineers, and mechanics to execute customer projects. Projects include motorsports, automotive, defense, and commercial industries.
The Water Jet Operator will execute the requirements of the work orders and process material accordingly using drawings, specs, and/or verbal instructions as well as exercise judgment and experience to plan and accomplish goals. Checking their work and meeting deadlines and document progress is expected, as well as being flexible, dependable, time conscious, and able to move from project to project with minimal supervision. The Water Jet Operator will work closely with shop management and conduct their day-to-day duties in a highly professional manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Assist with keeping water jet machine cutting.
  • Record time per direction, punch in and out of jobs. Keeping accurate records
  • Maintain housekeeping of Water Jet area and machine. (Sweep, mop, empty trash, wipe machine)
  • Record Water usage daily
  • Record material inventory daily
  • Assist with Removal of parts from machine when finish cut.
  • Organize and count parts as they come off machine.
  • Deburr & clean all parts using provided tools and equipment.
  • Count, organize parts with print to assure quality.
  • Maintain material organization per labeled shelves in a safe manor. Material is not to be left leaning up in area.
  • Assist with marking material type and PO numbers on all drops and put in the proper storage shelf
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
  • Fork Lift Certification
  • Crane Certification
DESIRED SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
  • Minimum of 1 year of water jet experience
  • Microsoft Office experience – Excel, Word, Outlook, Tasks, Teams
  • Must be able to rig and move heavy structures
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:In addition to the responsibilities mentioned above, the ideal candidate must possess but not be limited to the following:

  • Reliable
  • Mechanical ability and likes to work with their hands
  • Excellent work ethic
  • Pride in workmanship
  • Able to perform continuous moderate or occasional heavy physical activity
  • 40 hour work week with overtime as needed
  • 6:30 am work start time
  • Must be flexible with schedule to accommodate fixed deadlines
  • Some travel may be required
