Position Summary
The Retail Store Clerk will assist the Retail Management team in daily operations of PRI Retail Store locations. This includes but is not limited to,inventory, merchandising, pricing, point of sale systems, online orders, customer service, light cleaning and plant care. All employees are expected to conduct themselves in a way consistent with PRI’s core values.
Duties and Responsibilities
Store Operations
Store opening and/or closing procedures
Understand designated sales goals
Ensure merchandise is stocked timely and according to section.
Help to create seasonally relevant merchandise displays.
Assist in dusting, sweeping, wet moping and organization of the Native Plant Center indoors and outdoors.
Customer Service
Customer Consultation
Provide information regarding merchandise, native plant communities, seeds, plants, etc.
Assist customers with selecting products
Give customers instruction on site prep, planting and maintenance.
Retail Sales
Complete sales transactions using PRI point of sale/register systems.
Under the direction of the Store Manager or Retail Operations Coordinator, assist in taking and fulfilling customer online/phone orders and ensure payment is received and order is completed using point of sale and NetSuite sales/inventory system
Care for Native Plants
Watering and Weeding
Provide treatment for common plant problems
Miscellaneous Duties
To assist other departments within the company as needed.
Follow all safety rules and maintain safe working conditions.
Work Environment
Regularlyworksin outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity. Noise level may be loud at times. Working hours can be long and unpredictable.
Physical Demands
Must be able to stand for long periods of time and be able to move objects up to 50 lbs. using abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Constant movement and use of limbs. This position requires good manual dexterity, coordination and stamina.
