Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY: Provides nursing care for dialysis patients in accordance with established standards, policies, procedures, licensure, and scope of practice. Delivers hemodialysis services to chronic outpatients.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Utilizes the nursing process by providing care and documentation. Administers medications within the scope of practice. Provides dialysis treatment as ordered. Monitors patient’s condition and reports changes to the appropriate personnel. Explains the dialysis procedure and operation of the hemodialysis machine to the patient when initiating treatment. Operate and monitor the water system. Assists in the completion of admission and ongoing patient assessment. Receives, transcribes, and executes physician orders and communicates to others for continuity of care. Completes annual competency skill evaluation. Other duties may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Education and/or Experience Graduate of an approved program. BLS is required. Completes Dialysis Orientation program.
