Location: 15185 K Road Mayetta, KS

Pay Range: $46,904 - $76,648

Offering rate will vary within the listed hourly range above. *Supported by the Department budget & related experience/education*

Role:

Manages daily operations of all motor vehicles for the Prairie Band Pottawatomie Nation (PBPN). Enforces PBPN motor fleet policies, procedures, rules, and regulations as well as all state (KDOT) and federal (FTA) laws, policies, rules, and regulations directly related to public transportation.

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement.


Minimum Requirements:

Driving: Must have a valid Kansas driver's license and be insurable with the Nation's insurance

Experience: 2 years of supervisory experience and 2 years of managerial experience.

Education: Two-year College degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school, including but not limited to, business management, logistics, transportation, or supply chain management.

Interpersonal Skills: The ability to motivate or influence others is a material part of the job, requiring a significant level of diplomacy and trust. Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the job and a high level of interpersonal skills is critical to the success of this position. Work frequently involves contacts requiring considerable discussion of problems, material presentations, and resolving issues impacting departments or divisions.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of principles and methods for moving people by road, including the relative costs and benefits.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
  • Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography, and transcription, designing forms, and workplace terminology.
  • Knowledge of DOT and FTA laws and regulations, state, federal and tribal legal codes and laws, court procedures, precedents, government regulations.
