Prairie Band Health Services is Hiring a Medical Assistant Near Towaoc, CO

Description

 Seeking to hire two (2) full time Medical Assistants (MA’s) with the following specifications:

- provide direct patient care services to the Pediatric, Geriatric, Adolescent, and Adult patients.

Medical Assistant (MA) care is based on the history and assessment of each patient and, more specifically, will be based on the Physician’s Medical Plan of Care.

-services will be provided in an outpatient facility that includes: Family Practice; Pediatrics; and Women’s Health.

- will utilize the MA process in identifying individual patient problems and in developing,

implementing, and evaluating patient care plans.

- provides MA care to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual, and sociocultural needs of the patient, by means of direct patient care and teaching.

- observes and assesses a patient’s critical condition, recognizes, identifies, and interprets serious situations and immediately decides which proper action will be taken (e.g., informs Physician or takes pre-planned measures).

-in emergency situations, when a Physician is not present or immediately available, will initiate appropriate measures (e.g., takes resuscitative measures in case of cardiac or

respiratory arrest).

- operates and monitors specialized equipment, including, but not limited to: resuscitation equipment; electronic monitoring devices; suction machines; cardiac monitors; oxygen-saturation monitors; IVACs; etc.

- administers therapeutic measures as prescribed by the Physician, including, but not limited to: medication administration (utilizing a variety of routes); intravenous fluids; ear lavage; basic splinting; etc.

- performs Point of Care Testing, including: urinalysis; pregnancy tests; strep/flu tests; blood glucose, etc.

- performs Phlebotomy duties.

- documents observations, medical interventions, therapeutic measures, and the status of patient’s condition in the patient medical record.

- coordinate activities between the care team members and other professional disciplines to provide Holistic Patient Care, when necessary.

- must be able to work with multicultural patients and interpreters as necessary for non-English speaking patients. 

All work shall be performed by a Medical Assistant focusing in the utilization of their professional training and experience in providing Medical Assistant services in order to perform the required tasks.

-Other related duties as assigned.

Day shift M-F

Will maintain an American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification.

-Certification must be current and cannot expire within the next 30 days.

Requirements

Must provide proof as a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (MA), with recent Family Medicine experience within the past 12 months, and current American Heart Association Certifications (BCLS).

§ shall provide a copy of his/her work experience (resume, CV).

§ shall provide a listing of recent past performance as a MA.

§ BLS current

§ Must pass federal security clearance

§ Must complete employee health prehire process
