Practice Resources, LLC is Hiring a System Administrator Near Syracuse, NY

Practice Resources, LLC is looking for a Systems Administrator who is responsible for supporting and maintaining existing infrastructure, as well as supporting IT end users. They will be expected to execute on tasks provided by the IT Director, as well as help identify potential solutions to improve workflows and technology usage. The Systems Administrator is part of the Information Technology department, and reports to the Information Technology Director.
The System Administrator will have to report to PRL in Syracuse, NY. This is NOT a remote position. 

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Install, monitor and maintain servers and systems within PRL environment
  • Upgrade and maintain current levels of software to allow for enhanced product functionality and security
  • Maintain and validate backing up and restoration of systems and data
  • Spec and Implement new hardware both physical and virtual
  • Spec and Implement new software solutions
  • Provide Level 2 Help Desk Support to end users
  • Act as backup Level 1 Help Desk when the need arises
  • Recommend changes to both Infrastructure and Workflows to resolve issues and improve efficiency.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience

Work Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience of working with virtualization products such as VMWare and/or Hyper V.
  • Managed Dell, HP, Cisco UCX server hardware with VMware and Windows Server operating systems, Powershell scripting, Active Directory, DNS
  • Understanding of networking security best practices and how to enforce them with such methods as firewalls and other TCP/IP filtering devices
  • Familiarity with server and network monitoring software such as Solarwinds and Lansweeper preferred
  • Understanding of SCCM, WSUS and Windows Operating experience preferred
  • Knowledge and experience working with Linux OS systems

Licenses / Certifications

  • MCSA would be preferred
