Position Summary: Leads function and accountable for performance and results of the function. Works on complex issues that involve analysis of situations or data requiring an in-depth knowledge of PRA. Seen as an internal "expert." Decisions guided by functional objectives and priorities. Oversees process improvement at the team and departmental level. Develops short to midterm strategic planning. Insight to contribute to the overall success of PRA. Has overall control of planning and recommending and implementing changes to methods. Demonstrates and fosters partnering across teams; influences and builds relationships across functions. Primary point of responsibility, accountability, and activity for the analysis of business data to inform product and customer strategy decisions. Designs testing for champion/challenger strategy development using statistical analysis on business data and reviews the summarized data for accuracy. Investigates and presents strategy changes, impact analysis, and testing results to peers and leadership. Interprets data to identify business trends, conduct root cause analysis of business problems, or suggest areas for business process improvement. Assesses current practices, collects information, and analyzes industry trends to help determine operational objectives. Makes recommendations and improves the system by studying the products. Analyzes Net Operating Income (NOI) generation activities to research and propose areas where cost reduction or revenue gains could be made from strategy changes. Professional Experience, Skills and Qualifications: 8 years of Financial Services and/or non-performing loan market experience. 4 years management experience leading a team of analysts. Advanced-level experience in business analysis using data analytic tools. Experienced in report building and has ability to mine data through relational programming tools such as SQL. Experience in the Financial Services and/or non-performing loan market preferred. Competencies: Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex coding procedures into standard documentation for leadership and other departmental uses. Exceptional conceptual thinking and problem-solving skills using data analysis and utilizing excel or other statistical packages. Strong management abilities to mentor and develop department analysts in their understanding of the business and PRA processes. Strong investigative oversight into the quality of a team’s output. Oversees multiple business processes and new project initiatives at one time. Ability to advance processes through creative solutions and automation. Exceptional project management skills. Must have strong organizational, time-management and high attention to detail. Technical: Ability to create and enhance data visuals and workflow diagrams. High level analytical problem-solving skills using complex data analysis. Strong business acumen and financial analytical skill set. Highly effective at reviewing output from data mining exercises for quality control and logical progression for the question or problem at hand. Strong mathematical capabilities including the ability to run statistical analysis. Must have strong excel skills (charts/graphs/formulas/macros). BA/BS in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or quantitative field; MBA preferred. Key Responsibilities: Drive strategy, conduct tests, analyze and interpret results, and present fact-based recommendations for collections performance improvement. Manage a team of analysts with oversight into their analysis & reporting using Oracle SQL, MS SQL, and other statistical tools. Ownership of operational channel processes that have high company Net Operating Income (NOI) or associated risk value assigned to them. Responsible for managing the deployment of strategies in multiple areas of the business as a subject matter expert (SME). Oversees analyst work who are supporting the day to day business tasks for the purpose of managing and accessing the segmentation criteria for operational strategies. Creates the set of testing options that can improve performance, define the approach to prioritize the options based on cost/benefit analysis, and produce and execute upon the resulting testing schedule. Clearly documents and measures strategy performance, incorporate champion/challenger structure leveraging advanced test design as appropriate. Presents impact analysis for any cause-and-effect changes in strategy or risk events to stakeholders and Data & Analytics (D&A) department leadership. Provides creative solutions for improving processes or strategy concepts and capable of building out testing scenarios for deployment. Acts as the project owner for department when needed and present findings to executive leadership. Enhance the monitoring and control mechanisms to strategy owned processes to ensure we maintain compliance with policies and procedures. Partners with operations leadership to build out value-adding dashboards and reporting that help track and monitor overall performance. Ensure operational reporting exists at all levels to help deliver on efficiency and effectiveness goals. Identify issues and process improvement opportunities and work with other areas of the business to analysis, report and resolve discrepancies (including taking ownership of actions/projects where appropriate). Research and present analytical findings to D&A leaders along with recommendations. Develop and refine financial modeling strategies for predictive analytics for cash flow trend analysis on activities. Leadership: Responsible for a team of analysts in the areas of D&A Operational Strategy. Responsible for the recruitment, development, engagement, retention, and management of the function(s). Develop and track progress against a product roadmap to build enhancing capabilities over time. Manages impediments and problems, resolve issues, and fix broken processes. Be a leader in the advancement of automated and dynamic control solutions for complex stored procedures. Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations and company policies across areas of organizational responsibility. Monitors the risk mitigation steps taken by the team to ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Develop strong working relationships with the operational leaders of the different collection channels to ensure that potential results from strategy changes are fully realized.
