PPL Electric Utilities Corp. is Hiring a Sr planner Near Allentown, PA

Responsibilities

Emergency Planner / Sr. Emergency Planner :

  • Working with subject matter experts, develops, updates, and maintains training aids, job aids, checklists, procedures, roles and responsibilities documents, and other related reference documentation for the EU Emergency Response Organization (ERO).
  • Develop and execute training and exercise programs for all hazards using HSEEP principles.
  • Develops and executes change management plans for modifications in process, roles, systems, and tools, including drill exercise programs (orientation, tabletop exercises, functional exercises, etc.)
  • Communicates with all levels of management and key leadership positions.
  • Monitors and maintains the various software systems and applications used in the emergency response process (i.e. : resource management database, Everbridge, SharePoint, smart device apps, etc.)
  • Supports the Manager - Emergency Preparedness in the performance of the position duties.
  • Facilitates Event Lessons Learned and ensures action items are assigned and monitored for completion.
  • Maintains professional knowledge of Emergency Response and continuously improves emergency response processes within PPL EU through benchmarking and review of industry best practices.
  • Primarily works independently, with guidance on only the most complex tasks.
  • Leads key and high-profile initiatives by solving complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions and makes use of knowledge of industry best practices related to emergency planning.
  • All positions in which driving is an essential function of the job, regardless of if the job code is marked safety sensitive or not, will also be included as safety sensitive.
  • May be assigned an Electric Utilities emergency and storm role. This is a special assignment that comes into play during storms and other emergencies when the company needs to restore power or respond to other issues affecting customer service.

This role may necessitate the need to work after-hours, outside of your normal schedule.

The company reserves the right to determine if this position will be assigned to work on-site, remotely, or a combination of both.

Assigned work location may change. In the case of remote work, physical presence in the office / on-site may be required to engage in face-to-face interaction and coordination of work among direct reports and co-workers.

Qualifications

Emergency Planner :

5 years of experience in Emergency Response / Planning activities and OR more than 2 years of experience in Emergency Response / Planning activities with a bachelor’s degree or project management experience.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience in All-Hazards response.
  • Knowledgeable in aspects of storm management.
  • Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or Associate Emergency Manager (AEM) certification.
  • Project Management Certification.
  • Experience in training a wide variety of users in the efficient management of storm restoration work.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Sr Emergency Planner :

10 years of experience in Emergency Response / Planning activities and OR more than 5 years of experience in Emergency Response / Planning activities with a bachelor’s degree or project management experience.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience in All-Hazards response.
  • Knowledgeable in aspects of storm management.
  • Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or Associate Emergency Manager (AEM) certification.
  • Project Management Certification.
  • Experience in training a wide variety of users in the efficient management of storm restoration work.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with individuals on all levels of the organization.
