Summary:

The Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis will play a key leadership role in diving financial planning, forecasting, and analysis initiatives within the organization. This position is responsible for overseeing the development and execution of financial strategies, providing insightful analysis to support decision-making, and ensuring the financial health and stability of the company. This role will manage the teams responsible for Customer Quotes & Product Costing, Deal & Contract Management (including Risk), Compliance and Corporate FP&A.

Job Duties:

  • Collaborate with teams from Sales, Legal, Project Success, Operations, Accounting, Project Management, IT and others to help develop and implement policies, procedures and business systems required to drive strategic plans, goals, timelines and measure success
  • Manage and mentor the team responsible for managing customer quoting, contract negotiations and approval processes (deal desk management) and contract management and compliance processes, including risk management (e.g. financing difficulties, cost overruns, contract consistencies) and operational cost management (including BOM)
  • Oversee the annual and multi-year consolidated budget and forecast process as well as the regular consolidated reporting packages for both management and the Board of Directors; including monthly actuals, budget, forecast and variance analysis
  • Take an active role in mergers and acquisitions, with a primary focus on acquisitions
  • Recruit, nurture, and retain highly skilled finance professionals

Lead the Customer Quote & Product Costing, Deal & Contract Management & Compliance Team – Responsible For:

  • Customer Quoting and Product Costing:
  • Developing and maintaining the customer quote model
  • Updating customer quotes and assisting the sales team in evaluating contract change orders and pricing
  • Understand and update expected materials costs, leading an active BOM management program
  • Adjusting the project cost estimation tool to match the most updated costing, contract terms and values
  • Ensuring that PMO Finance Department is provided with correct baseline files that support cost and schedules

Deal Management & Contract Management & Compliance:

  • New project management: evaluation, approval, and implementation success
  • Reviewing, evaluating, and summarizing contracts for potential areas of risk (e.g. financing difficulties, cost overruns, contract consistencies)
  • Drafting and presenting risk reports and proposals to executive leadership and senior staff
  • Collaborating with members of the legal department, procurement, project success to exchange information about R&O and schedule deliverable reviews for specific projects
  • Developing project summary information for presentation to stakeholders

Policies, Procedures & Systems:

  • Develop and maintain standard company-wide contract management, negotiation and compliance policies and procedures
  • Oversee key business systems needed to define, implement and manage the standard company-wide contract management, negotiation and compliance policies and procedures

Lead Corporate FP&A Team - Responsible For:

  • Managing the consolidated annual budget process
  • Maintain the long-term corporate model
  • Managing the consolidated monthly/quarterly forecast process
  • Managing the regular consolidated reporting packages for both management and the Board of Directors; including monthly actuals, budget, forecast and variance analysis and commentary
  • Developing and managing corporate metrics and goals

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. MBA or CPA preferred.
  • 10 years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis
  • 7-10 years managerial experience in a leadership role
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with executive leadership and external stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Strong leader that drives execution and builds the necessary capability to succeed; initiates action and commits to achieving business outcomes by taking accountability for goals
  • Strong project management skills, ability to drive multiple projects forward concurrently, effectively leverages resources to drive results and ability to create excellent and sustainable processes
  • Experience in dynamic companies undergoing significant change
  • Always maintain the highest degree of honesty and integrity
