The basic function of the position is to perform and document inspection of machined components for aerospace industry. You need to knowledgeable of all areas of Dimensional Inspection, Blueprint Reading, GD&T, and AS9100 Quality Management System protocols. You need to be detailed oriented, highly organized, creative, flexible and a great team player.

Education and/or Experience:

• Thorough knowledge and experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, Blueprint Call outs, either from formal training or on the job experience.
• Minimum 2 years' experience with programming PC-DMIS CMM
• Minimum 5 years' experience with FAI dimensional inspection.
• Minimum of 2 years in a AS9100 Quality System.

Responsibilities:

• To understand and to be knowledgeable of all areas of CMM Inspection and capable of programming CMM with PC-DMIS Software.
• CMM Inspector will provide CMM programming and quality control support of daily production and operational needs.
• Create, develop, edit, and implement new CMM programs for complex aerospace parts using PC-DMIS software from 2D drawings.
• Work with Engineering and Quality personnel to develop programs which verify product conformance, while ensuring program efficiency and accuracy.
• Develop programs meeting ASME Y14.5 standard practices and recommend actions for improvement.
• Verify program accuracy through mechanical measurement methods and revise programs when determined to be necessary.
• Complete First Article dimensional inspection of production setups, and support in-process and final inspection for complex dimensional characteristics.
• Verify out of tolerance characteristics with secondary mechanical methods using precision measurement equipment, such as surface plates, height stands, micrometers, comparators, etc.
• Work with Production personnel to assist in investigation and correction of out of tolerance conditions.
• Maintain PC-DMIS Program database and ensure obsolete programs are controlled from unintended use.
• Clean, maintain, calibrate coordinate measuring machines and monitor machine performance for continued use.
