Our plumbers are extremely valuable members of our organization and as a Plumbing Apprentice, you will get to work under the supervision of a licensed plumber to complete tasks for our customers. The Plumbing Apprentice will gain valuable experience and skillsets that will enable them to eventually become eligible to take the journeyman license exam.

Plumber Apprentice Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Plumbers on jobs
• Run for tools and parts from the truck
• Prepare job areas; cleaning job sites when work is complete
• Assemble pipes
• Handle tools and equipment
• Identify issues with drains or sewers
• Perform cleaning and unclogging services
• Assist in the installation, maintenance and repairs of plumbing fixtures, pipes, and other systems
• Perform cutting, welding, and assembling of pipes, fittings, and fixtures
• Assist in the inspecting and testing of plumbing systems for safety, functionality, and code compliance
• Locate and identify leaks
• Assist with cost estimating
• Help the plumber to ensure all work is completed in accordance with local, state, and federal codes
• Assist in the reading of blueprints for pipe systems

Plumber Apprentice Qualifications

• Problem-solving and math skills
• Manual dexterity
• Mechanically inclined
• Communication and customer service skills
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Some vocational training preferred
• Eagerness to learn
• Valid drivers license
• Ability to lift over 50 pounds
