We do this by providing the right equipment for the right application, setting it up to maximize both comfort and efficiency, making sure everything is operating the way it’s supposed to, and servicing all major HVAC equipment and controls. Our Customer Account Managers are responsible for developing new sales opportunities by building relationships with building owners, building managers, plant managers etc. They also work to develop sales by maintaining relationships, continuing to sell to existing customer accounts, and referrals. The Customer Account Manager must be able to recruit and manage highly sufficient staff to provide professional service to their customer base. This role requires technical expertise and skill to sell and manage commercial HVAC Service and Retrofit projects. Must be detail oriented, organized, and possess the ability to work independently, efficiently, and pro-actively to reach goals and objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing new sales opportunities by building relationships with building owners, building managers, plant managers etc.…
  • Expand sales/business opportunities with existing accounts, assuring customers are informed of newest and most innovative products.
  • Evaluate, maintain, or repair HVAC devices, or related equipment, following blueprints of Mechanical layouts.
  • Develop sales by maintaining and continuing to sell to existing customer accounts and referrals.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and continuing source of product information for assigned customers.
  • Build and maintain an efficient staff.
  • Select tools, materials and equipment and track inventory.
  • Meet contractual conditions of performance.
  • Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses.
  • Analyze, manage, and mitigate risks.
  • Provide regular feedback and reports regarding account performance.
  • Prepare and present professional sales presentations.
  • Attend business meetings and networking meetings as needed to promote Powers Mechanical Service and Retrofit Projects.
  • Stay informed of changes in the industry, including trends, new products, and changes in regulations.
  • Troubleshoot issues to a successful resolution for the customer.
  • Travel to client sites in varying weather conditions is routine part of the work. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Service.

Skills and Abilities

  • 5 Years of commercial HVAC service.
  • Two or more years of management experience, preferably HVAC or engineering field.
  • Excellent communicator with positive attitude and energy. 
  • A well-organized and self-directed reliable individual who is a team player.
  • Ability to plan and see the “big picture.”
  • Competent in conflict and crisis management.
  • Strong, safety aware team leader that prepares the team for success. 
  • Skillful with computers, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • An experienced sales professional who is energetic, forward-thinking and self-assured, with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image. 
  • Experience with public speaking an asset.
  • EPA Universal Certification. 

Physical Demands

  • Able to lift and carry 10-50 lbs. and up to 100 lbs. with assistance, sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, reach, repetitive hand motions, hear, speak, may experience prolonged and irregular hours, and work with frequent interruptions.
  • Must be able to pass a background check, drug screening and have a clean driving record.

This is a Safety Sensitive position.
