Entry-Level Environmental Planner – Wildfire Mitigation Program
POWER Engineers’ Environmental Division provides planning, permitting, engineering, site assessment, and corrective action services to clients worldwide. We are seeking entry-level Environmental Planners to support a wildfire mitigation program for a large electric utility in the Western US, and to join our 360 person environmental team.
This position can be based in one of multiple office locations: Boise, Portland, Phoenix, Las Vegas or San Diego. This full- time hybrid position requires working in the office 3 to 4 days a week.
Summary of Roles and Responsibilities
·Assist senior staff in environmental studies for energy infrastructure projects
·Assist in preparation and technical writing of environmental planning and analysis documents
·Research local, state, and federal permitting requirements
·Assist with permit applications
·Assist senior staff in field reviews and investigations to determine suitable site locations
·Interface with internal Project Managers, engineers and scientists, and subcontractors
·Performs other duties as assigned
Required Education/Experience
·This position requires a BS degree in Urban and Regional Planning, Geography, Environmental Planning, Landscape Architecture, or related degree
·Zero to three (0-3) years of experience
·Knowledge and interest in federal, state, and local environmental policy and regulation
·Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team and collaborative environment
·Ability to travel, up to 25% of the time, for site visits and client meetings
·Experience with Microsoft Office suite of programs (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
·Self-starter with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Desired Education/Experience
·Knowledge and experience with ArcGIS is a plus
·An advanced graduate-level degree is a plus

Salary DOE: The pay range for this position is $50K - $60K per year; however, base pay may be higher or lower depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This figure does not include additional compensation such as health benefits, vacation, 401k, etc.
