About the Position:

Potomac Healthcare Solutions is proud to offer a rewarding opportunity to work in the Student Health Services at Virginia Union University. At the Student Health Services, students are seen by advanced practice clinicians that assess and treat many common acute health conditions affecting the college health population. In congruence with VUU’s mission to develop students as citizen leaders, the Health Center is committed to providing health care services, education and leadership uniquely designed to meet the developmental and educational needs of University students, and to enhance the quality of life for all members of the Virginia Union University Community, including faculty.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

• Triage, evaluate and treat students in college health setting.
• Promote and assist in the control of communicable diseases through preventative immunization programs, early detection, surveillance and reporting of contagious diseases.
• Provide individualized health education and counseling and refer to appropriate resources as needed
• Maintain professional standards in managing confidential information.
• Promote wellness and positive lifestyle behaviors by participating in clinical and campus outreach programs.

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Minimum of three (3) years of LPN experience in an ambulatory care setting. 
• Current, full, active, and unrestricted Virginia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Proficient in MS Office and computer systems (i.e. Electronic Medical Records).
• Excellent communication and people skills. 
• Must be a US Citizen.
