Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT)

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist physicians with diagnostic cardiac catheterization, percutaneous coronary intervention, electrophysiology, peripheral angiograms and angioplasties studies and catheter ablations and implantation of cardiac rhythm devices.
• Monitor patients' blood pressure, heart rate using electrocardiogram (EKG) equipment, and peripheral oxygen saturation during the conduct of moderate sedation.
• Assist in the placement, monitoring, and troubleshooting of the intra aortic balloon pumps.
• Operate multichannel physiologic monitors that measure and record cardiovascular and pulmonary system patient status during diagnostic catheterization, percutaneous coronary intervention, peripheral angiograms, peripheral angioplasties and electrophysiology and implantation of cardiac rhythm devices.
• Alert the physician to physiologic parameters outside patient normal ranges during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment for the patient either by active participation in the cleaning of clinical spaces, operating rooms, and medical equipment, or by guiding other personnel in the environmental maintenance. Ensure upkeep, perform checks and maintain appropriate logs of medical equipment.
• Assist physicians in the percutaneous thrombectomy, intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), pressure wire and filter wire interventions, Angioplasty and Stenting.

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Possess and maintain certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Possess a minimum of two (2) years of full time clinical experience as a certified Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist within the preceding three (3) years entailing experience in a cardiac program in a tertiary care facility.
• Possess and maintain current registration as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) as determined by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). – OR - Possess and maintain current registration as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) as determined by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
• Must be a US Citizen.
