Position Summary:
Advancia Government Services (a federal government contractor) is seeking a qualified Section Lead to provide assistance to the Federal Aviation Administration’s Civil Aerospace Medical Institute (CAMI), under the Aerospace Medical Certification Division (AMCD). This position will provide successful management of approximately 70 employees to provide sufficient day-to-day operations responsible for the administration of the U.S. program to medically certify holders of U.S. pilot certificates, ensuring airmen are medically fit to fly.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The Section Lead must have knowledge of and be able to perform all Contract employee duties and must include a combination of the following functions:
Ensure the work in their section is performed in an accurate and timely manner and must report known discrepancies to the Contract Supervisor.
Train new contract employees and cross-train contract employees in other positions, as needed.
Communicate professionally and effectively with contract employees as well as customers and Government personnel.
Effectively interact with employees in his/her section, ensure their section is adequately staffed to process daily workload and notify the Contract Supervisor of issues.
Collaborate with COR to address questions and resolve issues or escalate to the Contract Supervisor as appropriate
Report Supply and/or equipment issues to the Supervisor
Act as the alternate to the on-site supervisor
Education & Experience Requirements:
Associate degree in a related field.
Three (3) years experience in related field.
Five (5) years of direct experience in a related field can be substituted for a degree.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Experience managing a team of ten (10) or more employees
FAA experience
Experience in some or all of the following areas is highly preferred:
Document Preparation and Handling
Correspondence and Transcription Support
Call Center Support
Data Analysis Support
Administrative Support
Mail, Hard Copy File, and Medical Record Release Support
Aerospace Medical Certification Subsystem / Medical Support System Technical Support
Media Production Support
Medical Records or Medical terminology knowledge preferred
Organized and detail-oriented
Emotionally intelligent
Ability to work on your own or with a team
Working Conditions/Working Environment/Physical Demands:Mainly sedentary, some standing and lifting up to 25 pounds, mainly indoors
Additional Requirements:
