Position Summary: 
Potawatomi Training, LLC (a federal government contractor) is seeking a qualified Deputy Project Manager/Quality Control Manager whois responsible for assisting the Project Manager (PM) with coordinating and overseeing the implementation and continuous operation, of all facets of the Student Services Contract at the Center for Domestic Preparedness. The DPM/QCM will be the subject matter expert regarding Student Services operations and responsibilities. Maintains close coordination with all departments to ensure proper workflow and successful completion of current projects/tasks. The DPM/QCM is responsible for the implementation of the Quality Control Program.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assists the Project Manager and fulfills the Project Manager’s position in his/her absence.
  • Assists in the management of day-to-day operations of the contract.
  • Determines appropriate services, with clients or customers, to define project scope, requirements, and deliverables.
  • Provides input to project plans.
  • Implements project plans to meet objectives.
  • Provides administrative oversight for the Government Printing Office (GPO) process.
  • Prepares status reports and presents them to upper management.
  • Responsible for responding to government-requested orders.
  • Plans, administers and monitors expenditures to ensure cost-effective support of programs and policies.
  • Participates in milestone meetings, final project reviews, and performance evaluation meetings, as needed.
  • Makes improvements, solves problems, or takes corrective action when problems arise.
  • Communicates information effectively in a timely and organized manner.
  • Produces written information which may include technical material.
  • Encourages and facilitates cooperation within the organization, with the customer, and between contractors.
  • Adapts work methods in response to new information, changing conditions, or unexpected obstacles, as presented by operation conditions or changes in tasking.
  • Effectively utilizes each team member to their fullest potential.
  • Mitigates team conflict and communication problems.
  • Trains the workforce in QC functions Inspects the work of personnel performing contract activities.
  • Conducts inspections of all general and specific activities included in the scope of work.
  • Directs corrective and preventive actions in coordination with these functions.
  • Follows up efforts to ensure compliance with program and contract requirements; documents quality control efforts and provides analysis for these functions (verification inspections)
  • Participates in PM’s staff meetings, providing guidance and information on all quality-related matters.
  • Serves as the Management Representative
  • Reports any noncompliance as required in the PWS.
  • Facilitates activities outside of the office.
  • On-call to respond to student issues during non-business hours
  • Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS: 
  • BS in Business Administration or related field required; MBA or Master’s degree preferred; eight (8) years of related experience will be considered in lieu of education).
  • Must possess and exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management
  • Knowledge of project management techniques and tools 
  • Direct work experience in a project management capacity
  • Proven experience in people management 
  • Proven experience in strategic planning
  • Proven experience in risk management
  • Proven experience in change management
