Post University is Hiring an Associate Faculty - Business Administration Near Waterbury, CT

Post University seeks to establish a pool of experienced teaching professionals to fill potential part-time teaching positions in the Malcolm Baldrige School of Business at our Waterbury, CT, campus.

JOB SUMMARY:

An Associate Faculty member is a part-time employee hired to teach specific course(s) during an academic session or term on a part-time basis. As an instructor, the Associate Faculty member's primary duty is to convey the course material so that students can attain the instructional Outcomes of the course. The Associate Faculty member's minimum obligation to the University is to fulfill the requirements specified for each course and comply with the University's procedures and regulations.
Essential Functions
Under the direction of the PC or APC:
Facilitate Class Instruction. The Associate Faculty member is responsible for teaching the assigned class in accordance with learning outcomes and syllabi specified by the Assistant/ Program Chair of the area and by Post University.
Classroom Management: The Associate Faculty member is responsible for adhering to all Post University policies and guidelines pertaining to course conduct and academic expectations for engagement. As the primary contact with students in the course, the Associate Faculty member is expected to work closely with the Assistant/Program Chair and Student Advising to address areas of concern.
Evaluate Student Performance. The Associate Faculty member is expected to administer evaluations of student performance based on course deliverables and course rubrics. All interim course grades will be posted on the Blackboard Grade Center. Final course grades will be posted into the University’s system known as WebReg.
Adhere to Course Guidelines. The Associate Faculty member is responsible for participation in any discussion boards, class discussions, and chat sessions as determined by the course. The Assistant/Program Chair shall set the required minimum. Still, it should be recognized that Post University requires all Instructors to engage students fully and maintains a high-touch effort with students.
Respond Promptly to Grade Determination. The Associate Faculty member should submit grades for assignments, discussion board exercises, and exams and course completion according to the established requirements.
Input Final Grades in WebReg and into the Blackboard Grade Center (if applicable).
As required, participate in and coordinate end-of-class “close the loop” meetings with APM.

Requirements:
All Associate Faculty must have, as a minimum, a Master’s degree and significant related experience in their area of instruction. In addition, each Associate Faculty member must have college transcripts (official) on file with Associate Experience to be considered for employment. Each Associate Faculty member will also complete a training session before his/her first teaching assignment at Post University.


General Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Business required. Doctorate preferred (i.e., Ph.D., JD, DBA).
  • Additional part-time assignments may be available teaching Business Administration courses to online, remote-site, and blended class populations using accelerated 8-week formats.
  • The ability to have a flexible schedule to teach traditional on-ground classes on our main campus is a plus.
  • Employ a range of strategies to foster student learning to engage in student discussion in an active learning environment on campus and/or online setting.
  • Promptly assess student performance and appraise students of progress.
  • Applied technology skills (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) are required.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills and demonstrate a passion for teaching and learning.
  • Knowledge of educational Learning Management Systems (Such as Blackboard LMS) is a plus.
