Job description

We are looking for a part- or full-time speech-language pathologist to provide center-based therapy services.

Positive Synergy is a group of creative, innovative, and driven professionals providing home and center-based services to individuals with autism. We firmly believe that the driving force to any company is the team that fuels and ignites it. We are currently looking for a full-time Speech and Language Pathologist.

SLP Responsibilities:

  • Provide service coordination and primary therapy in center-based settings
  • Perform comprehensive speech, language, and/or AAC evaluations for clients
  • Perform AAC evaluations on a consultative basis as needed
  • Develop treatment plans with goals that are customized, relevant, and functional to/for the client
  • Write goals pertaining to skills in the following areas:
    • Augmentative and Alternative Communication
    • Functional communication
    • Social pragmatics
    • Receptive and expressive language
    • Speech production
  • Write progress notes including data and progress in all goal areas
  • Plan and implement daily speech therapy programming
  • Create individualized visual supports
  • Plan lessons that target the client’s goals in the context of highly motivating and/or functional activities or routines
  • Collaborate with the client’s family to facilitate carry-over and generalization
  • Collaborate with Positive Synergy staff
  • Provide suggestions and strategies to facilitate carry-over and generalization of SLP goals
  • Familiarize self with ABA treatment plan and/or Behavior Support Plans to ensure consistency across ABA and SLP therapy sessions
  • Collaborate with BCBA in the development of goals
  • Observe ABA therapy sessions to familiarize self with teaching strategies and behavior interventions
  • Collaborate with client’s school staff and school based SLP to facilitate consistency and generalization
  • Analyze speech data and make program changes in a timely fashion when needed
  • Complete paperwork and provide any documentation required to obtain AAC devices from insurance companies and/or funding agencies
  • Program clients’ AAC systems
  • Create low-tech communication systems/supports
  • Train staff, parents, and team members on the proper use and programming of clients’ AAC systems

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Holder of Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA or eligible to qualify for CCC-SLP credentials following a clinical fellowship year
