GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Mental Health/Substance Abuse Counselor is a full-time staff member responsible for providing outreach, education, and mental health services This position requires a person who is creative, and flexible and performs diverse functions that require the ability to conceptualize, problem solve, and act independently with a degree of flexibility in accordance with agency precedents, policies and procedures. The Mental Health/Substance Abuse Counselor maintains a cooperative attitude at all times to promote effective work relationships throughout the agency.'

The Full-time Substance Abuse Counselor is primarily responsible for the treatment and care of clients on their individual caseload and those attending substance abuse treatment groups via the facilitation of groups as needed, providing confidential individual addictions counseling, completing associated documentation, and education and therapeutic support of clients. This position would require travel between Marietta, Decatur, and Duluth locations.
