Purpose Statement

The Annual Giving Manager offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families in North Carolina. We request that candidates ideally live in the Triangle but can live anywhere in North Carolina. We are a statewide organization with most employees working remotely. Hybrid work is welcome if you live near our office in Morrisville.

The Annual Giving Manager plays a pivotal role in advancing the mission of Positive Childhood Alliance NC. Primary responsibilities include developing and executing fundraising plans, and creation, and implementation of Annual Giving campaigns to secure financial support from individuals, corporations, and foundations. The ideal candidate is a passionate, idealistic, and empathetic storyteller who grows the donor base through direct mail and marketing and is highly skilled in creating and maintaining constituent relationships with integrity and authenticity.

Specific Responsibilities

· Lead, implement, and manage Annual giving appeals: Using direct mail, email, and digital communications to acquire, retain, and engage donors.

· Oversee Donor database: Managing and developing the donor database, including donation acknowledgment, donor stewardship, cultivation, and retention.

· Plan Donor-Centric Events: Coordinate and execute community events that engage supporters.

· Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with donors, sponsors, volunteers, and community stakeholders.

· Steward and oversee portfolio of recurring donors, The Giving Circle, and create the quarterly newsletter.

· Manage projects on deadlines within the annual Development plan.

· Utilize data and analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of fundraising efforts and identify areas for improvement.

· Provide regular updates and reports on fundraising activities, event outcomes, and donor engagement to the leadership team.

· Collaborate with Communications & Marketing and other internal teams to ensure alignment of fundraising and event activities with organizational goals and priorities.

Other

· The Annual Giving Manager is expected to assist with other duties as needed. Occasional weekend and/or evening hours may be required based on need (examples include working during conferences and trainings)

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, liberal arts, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in fundraising, donor relations, and event planning in the nonprofit sector.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience in team management or leadership roles.
  • Passion for the mission of the Positive Childhood Alliance, NC and a commitment to advocating for positive outcomes for children and families.
  • Experience in nonprofit management or other relevant nonprofit experience.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and a willingness to learn new skills.
  • Familiarity with event planning principles and processes is advantageous.
  • Aptitude using Canva and other platforms to create social media content.
  • Idealism, integrity, positive attitude, and a strong sense of mission-driven work.
  • Talent for innovative thinking and problem-solving, with the ability to think outside the box.
  • Flexibility in scheduling, with the understanding that occasional evening and weekend work may be required for events, projects, or campaigns.
  • Willingness to work remotely, in an office setting, attend meetings, and occasionally travel statewide.

  • Physical ability to lift to 40 lbs. and engage in hands-on tasks during special events and projects.
