JOB DESCRIPTION :

As the Night Porter, you will assist in ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of all duties in the reception department at night whilst maintaining the agreed standards of customer care and implementation of the control of all accounting procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure all guests coming to the reception desk are welcomed with a smile and in a friendly, prompt and efficient manner.
• Offer all agreed services to guests e.g. Porters, Wake up call, newspapers etc.
• Answer all telephones promptly and in a friendly manner to the agreed standard whilst also ensuring that all callbacks / messages / emails are passed onto reception at shift handover.
• Deal with complaints in an efficient and attentive manner and to inform the Front Office Manager / Front Office Supervisor / Duty Manager of any incidents.
• Have details of all local amenities, religious services, travel information etc. to hand for guests use.
• Be on hand for any groups checking in / out to ensure a quick and efficient check in / out.
• Deliver all telephone / emails to the guests / persons immediately whilst ensuring all telephone calls are accounted for and charges are put on guest bills to the agreed standard.
• Apply adequate security as per company policy to cash handling.
• To ensure all reports / machine / cash balance on a shift basis where applicable.
• To be aware of and comply with company policy regarding : Fire, Health and Safety, Hygiene, Food Hygiene, Customer Care, Security to include GDPR
• Read, understand and carry out your responsibilities as defined in the Health and Safety statement and Staff Handbook.
