At Ports America, the Corporate Development Intern assists in providing strategic decision analyses and financial modeling of operating results, new business initiatives, Mergers & Acquisitions, and business planning. The Corporate Development Intern will support the assessment of investment and acquisition opportunities.

As a Corporate Development Intern, you will have the opportunity to put your collegiate experiences and knowledge into action by assisting with high impact projects in Corporate Development. As the leading U.S. terminal operator and stevedore with operations in over 33 ports, Ports America has extensive experience in the operation and maintenance of marine cargo terminals and in the delivery of complex infrastructure projects. Ports America's terminal operations and stevedoring services include container, bulk, breakbulk and project cargo; world-class cruise terminals; intermodal facilities and quality RoRo operations.

Key Role/Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a cross-functional dispute resolution project, including but not limited to completion of in-depth evaluation of current state (including documentation of existing processes) and presenting recommendations to core leadership team.
  • Walk through the different accrual processes with each Billing group; document similarities and variations between locations; develop and present recommendations for future state.
  • Support the Billing Department efforts in gathering and consolidating 2024 process improvement project data, as well as assisting with workshop preparations.
  • Assist Credit & Collections with other various tasks/projects, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Enrollment as a matriculated Sophomore or higher Majoring in Finance / Accounting / Business / International Business or related field of study

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of Financial Statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow)
  • Experience in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Demonstrated strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Highly motivated with a desire to learn.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.

Compensation: $25/hr
