Portland Water District is seeking an Asset Management Technician to join our team and be on the leading edge of asset management for our dynamic water and wastewater utility. The ideal candidate is energetic, intrinsically motivated and a team player.
Portland Water District has an immediate opening for an Asset Management Technician. This opening is a regular, full-time position, which focuses on using GIS, CAD and spreadsheet/database software to maintain the digital utility asset information system. The position will develop design plans and update record documentation for utility infrastructure using GIS and CAD technologies, analyze data to support asset condition rating and maintenance priority setting, and provide technical support to Engineering/Planning and Operations groups. In addition, this position will be required to interface with customers and stakeholders, both external and internal, with regards to new development and renewal of our water and wastewater systems.
The selected individual will possess an Associates Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, or equivalent combination of experience and training, possess a valid State of Maine Drivers License with a clean driving record, have demonstrated knowledge and experience with computers, engineering and asset management software, and engineering plans, possess advanced level skills using GIS, GPS, and the ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications, and exercise good tact and judgement when interacting with customers.

Six (6) month probationary rate of $29.23 - regular rate $30.76.
